Credit Cards

In addition to applying for a RBC USA Visa card using your Canadian credit history, you can also do the same with American Express.

If you have a Canadian AMEX card, you can apply for a US AMEX based on your Canadian credit history.

One downside is, not all businesses accept American Express.

    Really? I have been here 5 years and has taken me that long to get a Capital One card with like a $400 dollar limit...I also had to put $500 down for a year for the crappiest flip-phone possible...

    The above suggestions are tips for getting a US dollar credit card using your Canadian credit history. In order to establish credit with a US bank, you do have to start from scratch.
